Mindy Cohn is schooling fans on the facts of Hollywood.
Cohn, who starred on the beloved '80s sitcom "The Facts of Life," opened up about why a reboot of the series was scrapped during a recent appearance on Sirius XM's "Jeff Lewis Live."
"What happened was not cute," Cohn said on the July 19 episode. "There was drama."
Cohn, who played Natalie Green on the Norman Lear-produced comedy, said discussions of a reboot began after a 2021 special from the "Live in Front of a Studio Audience" series sparked Lear's interest.
"There was this roundtable with Octavia Spencer and Amy Poehler and Jennifer Aniston where they all said, 'Yeah, our parents grew up with 'All in the Family' and 'Maude,' but we grew up with 'Facts of Life.' That’s the Norman Lear sitcom that we love,' " Cohn recalled.

"And I think Norman didn't really clock that. So, when he did, he said, 'Are you guys interested?' And we had all never really talked about it, but we all started to consider it a little bit."

Tentative plans for a revival began to take shape during the COVID-19 pandemic, Cohn said, including hiring a writer and holding cast meetings over Zoom.
However, Cohn said the reboot was derailed due to an unexpected business move by one of her co-stars.
Mindy Cohn says 'The Facts of Life' cast can't 'move past' co-star's spinoff attempt
Cohn revealed "The Facts of Life" reboot hit a snag when an unnamed co-star "went behind our backs" and attempted to secure a solo spinoff series, which she said "devastated" the cast.
"For a 40-year friendship and sisterhood, there was a tidal wave of emotion around it," Cohn said.
"The Facts of Life" starred Cohn alongside Lisa Whelchel, Kim Fields and Nancy McKeon.
When "Jeff Lewis Live" guest Michael Hitchcock quipped that Cohn's co-star was "greedy," she emphatically agreed.
"Some people are so desperate for either money or fame that it causes them to do things that to me, I guess, I’m still not that jaded. It shocks me," Cohn said. "You’re going to do that over money or that over becoming famous? It always just kind of freaks me out that people will do that. Throw friendships, deep true friendships, under the bus for a dollar."

Although Cohn and her castmates are on speaking terms with their co-star, she said the prospects of a reboot are "very dead," adding that the actresses have "no desire to ever work together."
"A couple of people can’t move past it, don’t want to move past it. We are not as united. Let me put it that way," Cohn said. "We were united for 40 years over not talking about each other, not doing dirty, not, you know, 'all for one, one for all.' And this kind of wrecked that, which is sad."
